Albert and Martin recently decided to leave The Laners - Albert has retired to Norfolk and Martin also decided to call it a day. It's very sad when something comes to an end, we've had really good times together. We're good mates but things change and Derek and Dave wish Albert and Martin all the best and hope both keep healthy and happy.

Derek and Dave decided that they wanted to carry on and so invited a mutual friend to join The Laners. Clive Brooks, who hails from Bromsgrove, has been playing and singing around the country for the best part of twenty years and has enjoyed forays into the USA, New Zealand and Holland. As well as joining The Laners, Clive also sings with a shanty group known as Sharp as Razors, has played for two groups of Appalachian dancers and a Morris side and was also a member of a well-established ceilidh band.

So there it is, The Laners still go on, with a different line up and a slightly different sound, still singing our little hearts out and we hope that we can enjoy the same support that we've had so far.
